Uzbekistan’s sambo veterans achieved impressive results at the World Championships in Oral, Kazakhstan, taking home two gold, one silver, and three bronze medals across the 20 weight categories. Sulton Isokov and Mokhina Yunusova won gold, Ikhtiyor Mukhiddinov won silver, and Sansizbay Yusupov, Bakhtiyor Turayev, and Elmurod Abrayev won bronze awards.
In addition to their success at the World Championships, Uzbekistan’s team also participated in the Grand Prix tournament in Ufa, Russia. Islom Nosirov reached the finals in the +98-kilogram weight category, and Dilshodbek Yuldashev (71 kg) and Sokhibjon Khasanboyev (88 kg) won bronze medals in the combat sambo competition.
