The partnership between Uzbekistan and China has significantly expanded in recent years, leading to increased cooperation in various areas. Additionally, agreements were made regarding inter-parliamentary relations.
During a visit to the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis, Vice President of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, Jiang Jiang, was welcomed by Ulugbek Shermatov, Chairman of the Committee on International Affairs, Defense and Security.
The meeting highlighted the strengthening of friendship and the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries. It was also noted that there has been a substantial increase in communication between governments, parliaments, foreign policy and industry departments, as well as in trade, economic, and investment cooperation.
Mr. Shermatov provided detailed information about the reforms being carried out under the renewed Constitution and the Uzbekistan 2030 Strategy, as well as the structure and legislative activities of the Legislative Chamber.
The dialogue, which was conducted in a positive and trusting atmosphere, focused on developing inter-parliamentary relations, elevating them to a higher level, and exchanging experiences.
