DUSHANBE, 16.01.2025 (NIAT Khovar) – During a meeting of business leaders from Tajikistan and Iran, held as part of the state visit of Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian to Tajikistan, it was highlighted that there is a favorable opportunity for investment and economic cooperation between the two friendly nations. The meeting was attended by officials from relevant ministries and departments of both countries, as well as representatives from business and commercial sectors.

A video showcasing the potential for entrepreneurship, investment, and tourism in Tajikistan and Iran was presented, and agreements were signed between companies from both countries. The Iranian business and investment community also had the chance to visit industrial enterprises in Tajikistan, such as Siyoma, Gayur technology park, and Arvis textile enterprise.

The guests also had the opportunity to explore Dushanbe’s historical, cultural, and tourist attractions, including Kokhi Navruz, the National Museum, and Istiklol Monument, to gain insight into Tajik culture and civilization and the development of the tourism industry in the capital.

According to the Tajikistan Agency on Statistics, the trade turnover between Tajikistan and Iran in January-November 2024 amounted to $336.8 million, a 55% increase compared to the same period in 2023. During this time, exports reached $104.1 million, while imports were at $232.1 million.

Tajikistan and Iran possess vast resources and opportunities to strengthen their economic and trade relations, and with the proper utilization of these opportunities, they can further enhance their ties.

Today, Dushanbe will host the Tajik-Iranian Trade, Investment, and Tourism Forum, where entrepreneurs and investors from both countries will discuss various issues related to boosting trade and economic cooperation.
