The Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan reported that Ilkhom Mahkamov and Li Xiaopeng, the Ministers of Transport of Uzbekistan and China, respectively, convened in Beijing to explore the opportunities for collaboration between the two countries in the transport sector.
The ministers discussed the construction of the “China – Kyrgyzstan – Uzbekistan” railway, the development of the “Andijan – Osh – Irkeshtom – Kashgar” multimodal transport corridor, the simplification of the visa issuance process for international freight transportation drivers, and the formation of new multimodal transport corridors.
The two sides also agreed to organize a meeting of working groups in the near future to implement the matters discussed.
