The International Development Association has allocated $350 million for the construction of the Rogun HPP. This was announced at a signing ceremony of the Financial Agreement between the Republic of Tajikistan and the organization. The agreement, which was signed by the Minister of Finance of Tajikistan and the World Bank Group Country Manager, will provide grant funds for the implementation of the Program “Sustainable Financing for the Rogun HPP Project”. The total amount of financing from the International Development Association is $650 million, which will be provided in two phases under separate agreements. This project aims to strengthen Tajikistan’s energy independence and promote sustainable economic development by providing reliable and renewable electricity. It will also help meet the growing domestic demand and create opportunities for exporting green energy on a regional scale.
