On Wednesday, LG Electronics announced that its in-vehicle infotainment system will be included in the 2024 Genesis G80 and the new GV80 Coupe. The webOS for Automotive platform, which is based on LG’s web-centric smart TV platform, will enable the driver and passengers to access streaming services such as YouTube while in the car.

LG, Hyundai Motor Group, and YouTube have collaborated to integrate a specialized YouTube app into the webOS for Automotive program. This will allow for an optimized in-car viewing environment that is compliant with driving safety regulations.

The South Korean home appliances maker has been expanding its business into the business-to-business sector, including automotive electronics and air solutions businesses.
