On Thursday, Samsung Card Co. revealed a third-quarter net profit of 139.5 billion won (US$103 million), a decline of 0.7 percent from the same period the year before.
In an official statement, the firm declared that its operating profit for the quarter was 186.8 billion won, a decrease from the 194 billion won of the same period last year. Sales also fell 7.9 percent to 1.02 trillion won.
The operating profit was 5 percent higher than the average prediction from a survey conducted by Yonhap Infomax, the financial data branch of Yonhap News Agency. There were no estimates of net profit available.
