At a two-stage international gathering in Samarkand, the Notary Chamber of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the International Union of Notaries joined forces to bring together representatives from almost 40 countries to talk about the prevention of money laundering in the notary sector and the role of notaries in the digital era.
Attendees of the conference had the chance to share their knowledge on the digitalization of notaries. Zaur Hasanov from the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Azerbaijan reported that the organization of an electronic notary system in the country started in 2007 and mobile notaries were introduced in 2016. Konstantin Korsik, the President of the Federal Notary Chamber of the Russian Federation, declared that the digital notary project has been running in the country for several years. This secure and convenient system is based on the “one window” principle, connecting notaries to registration departments, drafting legal documents, and offering online notary services.
Ayubkhon Yunusov, a representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, stated that notaries, diplomatic missions, and consular offices of the Republic of Uzbekistan abroad are all able to provide notarial services to individuals and legal entities located abroad.
