The severity of climate change consequences in Central Asia is growing, as highlighted by a recent event attended by a delegation from the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change. Led by Deputy Minister Jusipbek Kazbekov, the delegation participated in an extended Joint Meeting in Paris, discussing the integration of climate action and economic competitiveness in the region. In his speech, Mr. Kazbekov emphasized the importance of urban greening, sustainable infrastructure, and other initiatives such as tree planting and the use of renewable energy sources. He also noted Uzbekistan’s leading role in promoting sustainable development and environmentally friendly practices in the region. The meeting also highlighted the increasing impact of climate change in Eastern Partnership and Central Asian countries, including extreme temperatures, droughts, and glacier melting, which result in economic losses.
