The Prime Minister of the Slovak Republic, Robert Fico, was invited by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, for an official visit to Uzbekistan. During this visit, on June 9, the Prime Minister, accompanied by the Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan, Jamshid Khodjayev, visited the New Uzbekistan Park and placed flowers at the Independence Monument. The Slovak delegation was also given a tour of the complex and informed about its concept and architectural design. The park and monument were built in honor of Uzbekistan’s 30th anniversary of independence and represent its rich history dating back over three thousand years. It has become a tradition for high-level guests and official foreign delegations to pay their respects at this monument. The Slovak delegation was particularly impressed by the depictions of prominent figures and the symbol of the Humo bird, symbolizing peace, freedom, and goodwill. High-level negotiations will also take place during the visit to further strengthen cooperation between Uzbekistan and Slovakia.
