In particular, the use of digital technologies in the agricultural sector can significantly increase productivity and efficiency, as well as reduce costs and resource consumption. Additionally, the implementation of artificial intelligence in various industries can lead to the creation of new products and services, as well as improve the quality of life.

The University of Engineering and Technology named after Oguz Han has begun the annual International Scientific Conference, titled “Science, Technology and Innovative Technologies in the Era of the Revival of the New Epoch of the Powerful State”. This conference is dedicated to the celebration of Science Day in the country.

The state policy of Turkmenistan prioritizes the comprehensive modernization of the education and science system in the modern era. This includes strengthening the existing foundation and training highly skilled professionals, which are crucial for the country’s sustainable development and progress. The government places great importance on studying international best practices and developing effective partnerships with foreign counterparts in the fields of science and education. The consistent policies of the government, initiated by the National Leader of the Turkmen people and successfully implemented by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, aim to introduce international standards into the science system and effectively address the tasks in this area.

Currently, the educational process, scientific methods, and curricula are being improved to meet modern requirements. The relevant legislative and legal framework is also being strengthened, and new opportunities are being created for interactive and distance learning methods. With comprehensive government support, there has been an expansion in the coverage of fundamental theoretical and applied scientific research, as well as the creation of necessary conditions for scientists to work productively and the modernization of related infrastructure. Further cooperation with foreign research centers and the international scientific community is an essential part of the government’s policies. The “Strategy for the Development of the Science System in Turkmenistan for 2024-2052” and its Action Plan for implementation from 2024-2028 play a crucial role in this regard. The interrelationship between education, science, and production is also highly valued.

The two-day forum, organized annually by the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan, aims to share experiences and discuss the latest scientific achievements. The conference was attended by heads and representatives from Academies of Sciences and higher educational institutions of various countries such as Russia, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Belarus, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Ukraine, Türkiye, Armenia, Qatar, Algeria, Pakistan, and more.

Prior to the start of the conference, participants had the opportunity to visit an exhibition of innovative technologies, showcasing the high level of modern development in Turkmenistan, which places special emphasis on the comprehensive modernization of the science and education system. The exhibition featured cutting-edge developments and new projects aimed at contributing to the development of various industries. Guests were able to learn about the latest achievements in information technology, biotechnology, ecology, and more.

At the opening ceremony, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov’s welcoming address was read out. The Head of State congratulated the attendees on the Science Day holiday, which is widely celebrated in the International Year of Peace and Trust, and the start of the International Scientific Conference “Science, Technology and Innovative Technologies in the Era of the New Epoch of the Powerful State”. The President expressed confidence that the conference would provide an excellent opportunity for scientists to exchange cutting-edge developments in the field of science and technology.

The President’s address highlighted the state’s systematic support, both financially and logistically, for the diversification, digitalization, and industrialization of the national economy through innovation. The goal is to promote the development of new knowledge and best practices in the fields of innovation and technological sciences, introduce new scientific developments and solutions into the economy, and expand targeted international partnerships.

Leading foreign scientists, including Sirojiddin Mirzayev, Vice-President of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan; Vasiliy Gurskiy, Chief Scientific Secretary of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Belarus; Vladimir Papava, Academician-Secretary of the National Academy of Sciences of Georgia; Gevorg Vardanyan, expert of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia on cooperation with CIS countries; Ferial Filali, President Scientific Council of the University of Algiers; Zona Zaidi, Scientific Adviser to the Ministry of Science and Technology of Pakistan, joined the conference through digital communication. They shared information about the main areas of work of their respective scientific centers.

In his digital speech, the President of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan noted the effective development of Azerbaijani-Turkmen relations in the field of science. He highlighted the great success of science, culture, and art in Turkmenistan in recent years. The scientific cooperation between the two countries covers a wide range of areas and continues to strengthen. In Azerbaijan, special attention is given to the work of the great Turkmen poet Magtymguly Fragi and its study from a scientific perspective. The works of the great Eastern philosopher have been published multiple times in the Azerbaijani language. The collaboration between the Academies of Sciences of Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan in preparing and publishing a new anthology of the poet, based on a collection of his poems published in Bukhara in 1913, contributes to introducing Turkmen classical literature to the world. The opening of the “Magtymguly Fragi Research Centre” at the Nizami Ganjavi Institute of Manuscripts under the Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan is a testament to the strengthening of relations between the two countries at the Academy level.

The speeches also emphasized the crucial role of science and innovation in modern society. Science has become an integral part of everyday life, with its achievements having a significant impact on the development of society, the economy, healthcare, and other areas. Science helps us understand the world around us, solve pressing issues, and open up new horizons. One of the important topics discussed at the forum was the assessment and prediction of seismic risks in the region. Effective research in this area allows for the identification of potentially hazardous zones and the development of effective measures to reduce damage. Engineering surveys and analytical forecasts enable the implementation of modern anti-seismic technologies. Constant monitoring and preventive measures contribute to the resilience of the economy and the well-being of the region.

The reports of participants also highlighted the importance of new technologies such as digitalization and artificial intelligence in promoting economic growth. For example, the use of digital technologies in agriculture can significantly increase productivity and efficiency while reducing costs and resource consumption. The implementation of artificial intelligence in various industries can lead to the creation of new products and services and improve the quality of life.
