The first day of the UNWTO General Assembly in Samarkand is anticipated to be full of activities. In the morning, committees on statistics, programs, and budget will be convened, as well as plenary sessions with special representatives. At 4 PM, the opening ceremony of the 25th session will take place, followed by a briefing on the results of the events with the participation of UNWTO and the leadership of the Committee on Tourism.
Uzbekistan is a major member of the World Tourism Organization and is recognized as a key partner in the Silk Road project. The country is seen as a unique place with many historical and cultural sites, tangible and intangible heritage.
