DUSHANBE, 27.02.2024 (NIAT Khovar) – During the 13th Ministerial Conference of the World Trade Organization (WTO) member states, on February 24 in Abu Dhabi, Tajikistan’s Minister of Economic Development and Trade, Zavki Zavkizoda, met with the United Arab Emirates’ Minister of State for Foreign Trade, Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi.

The main focus of the meeting was on expanding trade and economic cooperation, as well as bilateral investments.

Zavkizoda urged his counterpart to assist in attracting investments from the UAE in key sectors of the national economy, such as the construction and reconstruction of hydroelectric power plants, solar and wind power plants, the establishment of joint industrial ventures, mining, and the development of logistics and tourism infrastructure.

It was highlighted that in 2023, the volume of bilateral foreign trade turnover saw a significant increase of 84%.

Both parties also expressed their willingness to further enhance trade and economic cooperation.
