Uzbekistan Library Professionals Join International Forum of Children’s and Youth Books of the CIS Countries and Georgia

The gathering is taking place in Moscow from August 30 to September 1 and has the motto “In the language of children’s literature: Cooperation in children’s literature and reading”. It is organized by the Russian State Children’s Library, the Raising a Reader Association, the Russian Book Union, the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, the Interstate Fund for Humanitarian Cooperation of the CIS Member States and other institutions.

The forum is centered around children’s literature, translation, book design, and the role of the Russian language as the base of international communication. It is attended by children’s writers, illustrators, designers of children’s books, librarians, and specialists in children’s literature from Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Georgia.

This international forum will be pivotal in encouraging activities at the international level to foster reading skills in Uzbekistan and set up libraries’ activities at the modern level.
