President Shavkat Mirziyoyev welcomed the Secretary-General of the UNWTO, Zurab Pololikashvili, to Samarkand for the 25th session of the UNWTO General Assembly. The two sides discussed how to further strengthen the comprehensive cooperation between Uzbekistan and the UNWTO to maximize the potential of the tourism industry. The President expressed his satisfaction with the level of collaboration between the two, which has become a key partner for Uzbekistan in reforming its tourism sector. Particular attention was given to the “Tourism on the Silk Road” brand, which includes initiatives to enhance the infrastructure, promote tourist destinations, and train personnel.
