The Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbayeva recently held a meeting with the Director of the ILO Regional Bureau Mikhail Pouchkin to discuss the implementation of fresh joint initiatives to improve the labor relations system and the potential for cooperation to enhance working conditions in various sectors of the economy.
The parties highlighted the importance of the Decent Work Program in Uzbekistan, a joint effort between the ILO and the Republic of Uzbekistan that was created for 2021-2025, as well as the measures taken to widely employ international standards in the nation’s economy in labor, production, and technical fields.
The two sides shared their opinions on these and other related topics.
They also agreed to further bolster the already flourishing partnership between Uzbekistan and the ILO and to intensify their consultations on jointly implemented projects.
