The Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Tanzila Narbayeva, who is on an official visit to Minsk, held talks with Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko. It was noted that the friendship and mutual cooperation between the two countries have grown significantly in recent years due to the establishment of a high-level dialogue based on mutual trust.
The trade turnover between the two countries has increased significantly in recent years, reaching $500 million in 2022. Since the beginning of this year, it has grown by 37%. It was emphasized that the two sides should work together to increase the bilateral trade to $1 billion.
At the meeting, it was agreed that both countries are interested in deepening cooperation and launching promising projects in various fields, as well as strengthening interregional contacts and cultural and humanitarian exchange.
Cultural and humanitarian ties between the two countries are flourishing. People from both countries take part actively in the Culture Days organized in both countries, various concerts, festivals, competitions, and sporting events. The need to continue holding short-term internships for young scientists in scientific organizations of the two countries was also discussed.
The two sides agreed to consider developing and implementing a joint plan of practical measures to actively involve women in entrepreneurship, innovation, IT, and biotechnology and train them in modern professions.
