Ms. Yokut Schmid, Advisor to the Chairman of the Uzbekipaksanoat Association, has teamed up with the Khiva Silk Fabric enterprise in Khorezm region to create new products from waste silkworm cocoons. According to the Uzbekipaksanoat Association, these items have a high demand in European markets. 
Textile experts from Switzerland visited the project and the Khiva Silk Fabric enterprise to assess the progress. They were impressed by the Uzbek silk products and gave them high praise.
