The Uzaviation Agency has given the go-ahead to UVT Aero, a Russian regional carrier, to operate flights between Kazan and Samarkand, Uzbekistan. The permit was issued on August 17, 2023, in compliance with the intergovernmental agreement between the two countries. The flights will be carried out using CRJ-200 aircraft.
Roman Bondarchuk, Director General of UzA, expressed his belief that the new route will be beneficial for both Russia and Uzbekistan, promoting the development of air travel between the two countries. UVT Aero, founded in 2015, is based at Kazan, Bugulma, and Begishevo airports, with its headquarters in Bugulma. It provides regular passenger services to cities in Tatarstan.
