On August 22-28 this year, a delegation led by the CEO of OPASCA GmbH Alexey Sverdlov visited Uzbekistan. During the visit, the delegation visited the city of Tashkent, Fergana, and Samarkand regions and took part in meetings held at the Hokimiyat of Fergana region, Samarkand State Medical University, and Samarkand State Institute of Foreign Languages, aimed at strengthening cooperation with Uzbekistan in medicine.

At the meetings, the parties agreed on a one-year internship in Germany for students studying in the Nursing specialty within the framework of the Pflege.uz program.

Alexey SVERDLOV, CEO of OPASCA GmbH (Germany):

– Cooperation between Uzbekistan and Germany in healthcare is developing very successfully. Over the past few years, OPASCA GmbH has implemented many significant projects between Uzbekistan and Germany, including advanced medical personnel training and exchanging knowledge and experience with specialists from Germany. Many developments in Uzbekistan are of interest to Germany as well.

We managed to build a reliable bridge of cooperation. This interaction makes it possible today to develop further projects, including in nursing – in Germany, there is a very high need for patient care personnel.

In the past year and a half, Uzbekistan has launched a German language training program for nurses who already have a professional education that meets the standards and requirements of employers in German public clinics.

Pflege.uz is a German word that describes precisely this profession. Today, more than 100 people in Uzbekistan study German in several groups, which is mandatory since knowledge of the language is necessary to communicate with patients.

Several people from different groups have already been selected, and the first team will soon leave for work in Germany. During this visit, important meetings were held at different levels, since at the next stage of the project, we want to achieve in-depth knowledge of the German language by nurses not only in Tashkent and Andijan, but also in other regions of the country to be able to get a job in German clinics.

Anastasia KOL, Pflege.uz Project Manager:

– We are visiting Uzbekistan to expand the Pflege.uz program. Now, it is called “2+1”. Students study in Uzbekistan for 2 years, and in the third year, they go to Germany for an internship. At the same time, they will receive a double degree and then remain to work in Germany.

During the visit, we signed 2 agreements. One is at the Tashkent Medical Academy. The other is at the Fergana Medical Institute of Public Health. According to the program, students will be admitted to study this year. As part of this program, we will cooperate with the University Hospital Freiburg and the Mannheim University Hospital in Germany, and OPASCA GmbH will assist students.

As a result, they will receive a decent monthly salary and the possibility of increasing it due to work experience.
