Uzbekistan taekwondo athlete, Ulugbek Rashitov, accomplished a remarkable feat on the 32nd Anniversary of the Independence of Uzbekistan. He clinched the gold medal in the WT Taekwondo Grand Prix in Paris, France in the weight category up to 68 kilograms.
Rashitov had a victorious run in the tournament, overcoming Amar Cisse Moussa from Gabon, Ignacio Morales from Chile, Yushuai Liang from China, and Croatian Marko Golubic before reaching the final. He then triumphed over Edival Pontes from Brazil and earned the gold medal, along with ranking points for the Paris 2024 Olympics.
This victory makes Rashitov the first Uzbek taekwondo fighter to secure two consecutive successes at the Grand Prix tournaments. He also has the gold of the Grand Prix competition in Rome.
