The 12th session of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Statistical Commission is taking place in Saudi Arabia from October 3-4. Delegations from all member states have been invited, including a contingent from the Statistics Agency under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, headed by Director Bakhodir Begalov.
The main purpose of the event is to furnish statistical information to support development plans and to promote the exchange of experiences between member states. Additionally, it seeks to build the technical and scientific capabilities of statistical professionals in the official statistical agencies of member countries.
During the meeting, participants will collaborate to improve the production and distribution of accurate statistical data and indicators in accordance with global standards and methods. They will also be discussing ways to create a strategic vision to improve statistical systems through short, medium, and long-term plans, as well as ways to enhance the technical capabilities of statistical agencies in Islamic countries.
These topics are of great importance for the implementation of extensive reforms in Uzbekistan’s statistical sector. UzA
