On Thursday, SEOUL, South Korea saw three of its medical institutions make the cut on Newsweek’s World’s Best Specialized Hospitals 2024 list. Samsung Medical Center was the highest-ranking Asian hospital, coming in fifth in the field of oncology. Asan Medical Center and Seoul National University Hospital followed behind at sixth and ninth place, respectively. Samsung Medical Center also made the top 100 in eight other medical fields, two of which were in the top 10 for urology and gastroenterology. Asan Medical Center was featured in the top 100 for ten categories, including oncology and endocrinology. The list was compiled by global market surveyor Statista, after conducting an online survey of 40,000 medical experts and 300 institutions from 28 countries.
