DUSHANBE, 13.07.2023 (NIAT Khovar) – During the first six months of the year, 34 new small and medium-sized manufacturing enterprises were formed in Khujand, providing 208 permanent jobs.
The total number of industrial enterprises in the city now stands at 241.
In addition, 108 small and large companies produced import-substituting goods worth 369.8 million somoni, which is 47.4 million somoni more, or 14.7 percent, than the same period last year.
During the time period, the volume of industrial production, including the production and sale of electricity, amounted to 738.9 million somoni, an increase of 115.4% compared to the same period last year. Of this amount, products worth 213.6 million somoni were exported, 26.3 million more than in the same period last year.
In addition, the range of industrial products produced in Khujand has expanded, which are mainly made from local raw materials that are environmentally friendly and exported to 17 foreign countries.
The industrial enterprises of the city are producing more souvenirs, jewelry, laundry soap and children’s shoes, which are exported abroad.
