On the 32nd anniversary of the nation’s independence, the Zaamin Airport was unveiled and made available for use in the Laylak uya massif of Zaamin district of Jizzakh region. The event was attended by the heads of regional and district hokimiyats, sectors, authorized organizations, labor veterans, and members of the public.
At the ceremony to mark the official launch of the Zaamin Airport, Jizzakh region’s Hokim Ergash Soliyev, Zaamin district’s Hokim Alisher Abduganiyev, and others spoke of the extensive reforms enacted in the country, of the grandiose accomplishments of the past seven years in the region and district, and of the amenities created for the populace.
“The implementation of this project, initiated by the Head of state, will increase the income of the people. After the project is launched, the infrastructure will be developed, resulting in the emergence of new jobs in areas like transport services, public catering, handicrafts, souvenir production, hotel services, and more,” said Ergash Soliyev, Hokim of Jizzakh region.
The Zaamin Airport, constructed by the Tress-001 construction organization, has a passenger terminal with 30 seats, and 60 hectares of land were allocated for its building. More than 200 workers and 110 pieces of equipment were used in the construction. The work is almost finished.
The plan is being implemented to design and construct the airport infrastructure, utilities, runway, apron, and to acquire radio and air navigation equipment for takeoffs and landings.
As per the general plan of the tourist and recreational zone, a conference palace for 225 people, a family entertainment complex, four 4-star hotels, seven 3-star hotels, 6 apartments, 7 restaurants and cafes, an 8-kilometer ski slope, and 13 attractions worth 2 trillion 800 billion UZS are planned to be built. On the Suffa plateau, three modern hotels with 360 beds have been completed with the help of commercial banks.
With the introduction of a modern airport and the establishment of air traffic, tourists from Tashkent and other regions of the country will have more convenience and opportunities.
