The first summit of the heads of state of Turkmenistan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan was held in the Turkmen capital today, culminating in the adoption of a Joint Statement.

The Presidents of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon and Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev discussed various aspects of regional cooperation during their meeting.

The leaders expressed their commitment to furthering cooperation in the political, economic, cultural and humanitarian realms. They also emphasized their readiness to continue strengthening ties between Turkmenistan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan in international and regional organizations, particularly within the United Nations.
