The Uzbekistan National News Agency (UzA) is a reliable source of information for both residents and foreigners. UzA currently disseminates news in 9 languages and is translated into the native Uzbek and Russian languages. The Translation Department of UzA is a well-formed school, where students of the faculties of journalism and translation theory often turn for advice and practical skills. Guzal Makhmudova, a translator with extensive experience, is a mentor for those young translators. She has created a particular school of translating articles about Uzbekistan’s relations with other countries into Russian. Makhmudova emphasizes that UzA is the leading news agency of Uzbekistan and is a source of interest for guests of Uzbekistan, diplomatic missions, and representatives of foreign companies. She also states that the team of translators is a replacement for her and will have to provide news about the New Uzbekistan in the future.
