On March 31, the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, joined the President of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, and the President of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Japarov, for a trilateral meeting in Khujand. The leaders exchanged greetings for the holy holiday of Ramadan Hayit – Eid al-Fitr and the spring celebration of Navruz, wishing peace and prosperity for the people of their countries. President Mirziyoyev also extended congratulations to Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan for successfully resolving all issues and signing the Treaty on the Delimitation of the State Border. The leaders emphasized the importance of this document in promoting stability, development, and international standing in the region. A new Friendship Monument was unveiled as a symbol of strengthening good relations and strategic partnership among the nations. President Mirziyoyev outlined key areas of cooperation, including maintaining high-level contacts, hosting upcoming summits and forums, and enhancing border region cooperation. The leaders also discussed increasing trade, modernizing border checkpoints, and developing trade and logistics infrastructure. They proposed establishing a trilateral trade platform and increasing investments in joint projects. The leaders also agreed to improve transport connectivity, focus on green energy and transport, and cooperate on water resources and environmental protection. President Mirziyoyev emphasized the need for swift and tangible results in the economic sphere to benefit the people of the region. Cultural and humanitarian events were also highlighted as a means of promoting friendship and understanding among the people, with the proposal for annual joint celebrations and festivals in border regions. The meeting concluded with the signing of a historic Treaty on the Junction Point of the State Borders and a Joint Declaration by the three heads of state.
