The President of Turkmenistan took part in the festivities to commemorate the 32nd anniversary of the nation’s independence

The military parade, which became a bright demonstration of power of the Armed Forces of Turkmenistan, ends with the traditional threefold «Hurray!».

The Turkmen people are celebrating their country’s main holiday – the 32nd anniversary of the sacred independence of their homeland – with great enthusiasm.

On this special occasion, the nation is displaying its creative spirit and reformative energy of the new era of a powerful state through ceremonies held in every corner of the country.

… According to tradition, the state tribune, decorated for the occasion, welcomed numerous guests for the 32nd anniversary of Turkmenistan’s sovereignty.

Among them were members of the government, the Mejlis chairman and deputies, members of the Khalk Maslakhaty, heads of military and law enforcement bodies, ministries and sectoral departments, public organisations, velayat khyakims and Ashgabat city, representatives of diplomatic missions accredited to Turkmenistan and foreign delegations.

The square in front of the tribune was filled with servicemen of all branches of the Armed Forces of the country.

At 10 o’clock, the crowd joyfully welcomed President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

The holiday commenced with the military parade, showcasing the defensive capabilities of the nation, the high professionalism and training of Turkmen soldiers, and the achievements of the country’s sovereignty.

The Minister of Defence, Secretary of the State Security Council, B. Gundogdyev, asked President Berdimuhamedov, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, for permission to launch the parade in honour of the 32nd independence anniversary.

The head of Turkmenistan gave the command to start the parade.

… Colonel R. Ayazov reported to Minister of Defence, Secretary of the State Security Council B. Gundogdyev, on the readiness of the Armed Forces personnel for the start of the parade.

The Minister of Defence, Secretary of the State Security Council, made a tour of the forces and welcomed the ceremonial lines, consisting of military personnel and cadets of specialised high schools and schools, soldiers and officers of the National Army.

The national anthem of Turkmenistan was heard as the national flag of the country was raised majestically, filling the hearts of the people with pride for their beloved homeland. The sacred banner symbolised such eternal values as true patriotism and selfless love for the fatherland and the high creative spirit of the nation.

The military personnel lined up on the square – officers, soldiers and cadets took an oath of allegiance to the fatherland, people and the President. The current generation is faithfully upholding the glorious traditions passed on for centuries.

The parade began with a banner group, marching with the national flag of Turkmenistan and combat banners of all branches of the Armed Forces of the country.

This was followed by cadets of the specialised military school named after Berdimuhamet Annayev of the Ministry of Defence.

Berdimuhamet Annayev, a great teacher and fearless soldier, and great-grandfather of the head of the state, was awarded the medal «For courage» by the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation for his personal courage, bravery and merit, shown in protecting the fatherland and fulfilling his duty as a soldier in the Great Patriotic War. He is an example of courage for young soldiers and the personnel of all branches of Turkmenistan.

Women servicemen, who serve the nation faithfully in military and law enforcement bodies, followed. They are making a powerful contribution to maintaining peace and tranquillity in the country.

The officers of the National Army, State Customs Service, and State Migration Service followed.

Cadets of the Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Institute of National Security, and Border Institute also took part in the parade.

The motorized infantry battalion displayed an excellent example of impeccable training and great skill. This was followed by Turkmen pilots of the Military Air Forces, who protect the peaceful sky over the fatherland. Then came the battalions of tankers, artillery and antiaircraft, and marines.

Soldiers of battalions of special purpose «Türkmen edermen» of the Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ministry of National Security and State Border Service were also part of the parade. This generation is worthy of the glories of such great commanders as Gorogly beg, Togrul beg, Chagry beg, Alp Arslan, Malik Shah, Sultan Sanjar, Bayram khan, Sultan Jelaleddin, who left great marks in the history of the Turkmen people.

The military parade in the air was followed by the festive procession of mounted units of military and law enforcement bodies of the country.

The military personnel on horses truly added a festive touch to the celebration of the 32nd anniversary.

The review of military ships of the Naval Forces of the country was a distinctive feature of the holiday. On the huge screen placed at the square of the state tribune, participants of the event watched the flotilla passing simultaneously in the water area of the Caspian seaport.

… Corvette-class combat ship «Deňiz han», which entered service of the Naval Forces and is equipped with high-precision modern weapon, opened the festive review.

It was followed by missile boats «Edermen» and «Gaýratly», which provide security of sea borders of the nation.

The screen also showed border patrol vessels «Galkan», which have been effective in protecting the nation’s sea boundaries.

Modern military technologies of the National Army followed. Mechanised columns of various combat arms moved one after another on the square.

The military parade in honour of the 32nd anniversary of Turkmenistan’s independence concluded with the traditional threefold «Hurray!».
