On September 26, 2023, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov of Turkmenistan welcomed the President of the «Cifal» company, Gilles Remy, to Ashgabat. The guest congratulated the leader of the nation on Turkmenistan’s Independence Day, expressing his hope for the country’s prosperity.
The businessman also highlighted the eagerness of French and European businesses to build strong ties with the quickly developing Turkmenistan, which has created beneficial conditions for successful economic partnerships.
In response, President Berdimuhamedov thanked the visitor for his kind words and mentioned that this meeting will be a great opportunity to discuss the current state of bilateral relations and strengthen the partnership between Turkmenistan and the French business community.
He went on to say that the nation is always open to fruitful connections with prominent European companies, particularly in terms of incorporating advanced scientific and technical advancements and innovative solutions.
The head of state noted that «Cifal» is a long-term friend of Turkmenistan and has proven itself to be a dependable ally, referring to the successful collaboration and mutual trust in the implementation of major projects. Currently, a range of French companies are actively operating in Turkmenistan in the areas of construction, oil and gas, and aviation, in close cooperation with «Cifal».
President Berdimuhamedov further stated that, as part of its foreign policy strategy to extend foreign economic relations, Turkmenistan attaches great importance to acquiring foreign expertise in the fields of IT, digital agriculture, water conservation, and “green” technologies.
He concluded the meeting by expressing interest in learning more about the accomplishments of French companies and examining their specific proposals.
