President Serdar Berdimuhamedov of Turkmenistan spoke at the “Central Asia — Cooperation Council of the Arab States of the Gulf” Summit, urging for more cooperation between the two regions in the transport and energy sectors.
The head of state suggested that new transport and transit corridors be established to connect Central Asia and the Arab states of the Gulf, and that a Transport Committee be formed to coordinate these efforts.
Berdimuhamedov also noted the importance of the energy sector, noting that the participating countries have abundant resources and production facilities for fuel and energy processing.
He proposed the formation of a Joint Working Group on energy to analyze the potential of joint activities in the energy sector and provide consultations.
