Today, the Oguz Han Engineering and Technology University held a special ceremony to recognize the winners of a scientific research competition for the youth of Turkmenistan in honor of Science Day. The competition was organized by the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan and the Central Council of the Magtymguly Youth Organization. Participants included employees of research institutes, organizations, and production associations, as well as university professors and students, secondary specialized educational institution students, and young Turkmen professionals engaged in scientific activities.

Science and education play a crucial role in the development and transformation of society. In the era of the Revival of the new epoch of the powerful state, great importance is placed on incorporating advanced innovative experiences into programs initiated by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty, Hero Arkadag, and successfully implemented under the guidance of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

The award ceremony for young scientists was attended by members of the Government, heads of ministries and sectoral departments, representatives of the scientific community, rectors, faculty members, and university students. Special guests included participants of the International Scientific Conference “Science, Technology and Innovative Technologies in the Era of the Revival of the New Epoch of the Powerful State.”

The event began with a song and musical performance by students in various languages, dedicated to the International Year of Peace and Trust, which coincides with the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s permanent neutrality. The performance celebrated prosperity, friendship, and brotherhood.

In his address to the winners of the scientific competition, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized the special attention given to the development of national systems of science and education, the integration of new scientific achievements into economic sectors, and the enhancement of the country’s scientific potential. He also highlighted efforts to raise a generation of true patriots who are knowledgeable about their history, proud of their homeland’s achievements, and strive to elevate its reputation and glory.

The President stated that the achievements of young Turkmen scientists on the world stage bring honor and glory to the country and pride to its people. He assured that all necessary measures will continue to be taken to actively involve young scientists in scientific activities and the pursuit of new relevant directions in science.

Turkmenistan has created all necessary conditions for conducting fundamental scientific research and implementing advanced developments in production. The consistent strengthening of the material and technical base of scientific institutions and higher educational establishments, along with the effective use of modern information and communication systems, allows young people to delve deeper into the world of science. The country also supports the youth’s desire to conduct research in priority scientific fields, innovative experiments, and improve their creative abilities. This effort aligns with the new edition of the Law of Turkmenistan “On State Youth Policy” and the “State Program in the Field of State Youth Policy of Turkmenistan for 2021–2025.” This year, 1,665 young people participated in the scientific competition, which aims to identify talented youth and actively involve them in science.

The participants presented their research in six areas: nanotechnologies, chemical technologies, study of new materials and energy; biotechnology, molecular biology, agriculture, ecology, and genetics; information and communication systems, computer technologies; modern medicine and pharmaceutical production technologies; innovative economy; and humanities.

After reviewing the submissions, the competition jury announced 118 young scientists as winners, whose works demonstrate new scientific initiatives not only in theory but also in practice. This highlights the young scientific community’s ability in Turkmenistan to propose innovative ideas beneficial for various fields and industries.

During the ceremony, the winners were presented with valuable gifts and diplomas on behalf of the President of the country, receiving enthusiastic applause from those in attendance. The laureates of the intellectual competition expressed sincere gratitude to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Hero Arkadag for their comprehensive care for the younger generation. They pledged to apply all their efforts and knowledge for the prosperity of their beloved homeland.

Scientific discoveries, technical ideas, and research in industrial-innovative and information-technological fields by scientists, including young ones, play a crucial role in increasing the country’s scientific and educational potential. In an era of expanding opportunities for scientific creativity, intensifying information exchange, and developing cooperation with leading research and educational institutions worldwide, Turkmenistan has become a center for hosting international scientific conferences and subject Olympiads. Such events contribute not only to the effective exchange of scientific achievements but also to the consolidation of efforts to strengthen friendship and brotherhood for the bright future of humanity. These principles are an integral part of Turkmenistan’s policy based on positive neutrality and good neighborly relations.

The award ceremony for young scientists was another testament to the high appreciation of the youth’s work and talent. The winners of the competition expressed their sincere gratitude to President of Turkmenistan for the comprehensive development of domestic science and the education system, as well as the opportunities provided to unlock the potential of youth.

The festive concert, featuring performances by masters of arts and creative teams from higher educational institutions, was a wonderful gift to the young scientists of our homeland on Science Day, widely celebrated in Turkmenistan.
