Khanabad, the most picturesque corner of Andijan, is hosting the International Pop Art Festival “Melodies of the World”.
Popular bands and performers from more than 20 countries, representatives of the general public are taking part in the event. The Minister of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Uzbekistan Ozodbek Nazarbekov and Hokim of Andijan region Shukhratbek Abdurakhmonov addressed the festival’s opening ceremony.
The opening ceremony of the festival began with the performance of the group “Uzbegim”, which performed a musical composition on the national instruments karnay and surnay, and a dance performed by the artists of the State Dance Ensemble “Bahor” named after Mukarram Turgunbayeva.
The performances of the laureate of international contests Sabina Mustayeva, and People’s Artist of Uzbekistan Farrukh Zakirov gave a special atmosphere to the event participants.
Artistic groups and pop singers from the Republic of Karakalpakstan and the regions of Uzbekistan, as well as the world-famous groups Dr. Alban, and Boney M, performed at the event.
