The International Institute for Central Asia (IICA) recently held a gathering with the delegation of the German Berghof Foundation, headed by Basir Feda, the Head of the Afghanistan/Central and Southeast Asia Unit. During the meeting, the participants discussed the operations of IICA, the reforms in Uzbekistan, the progress of the Central Asian countries in the context of increased regional collaboration, and the dynamics of cooperation between countries within the “CA+” format. Afterwards, the Berghof Foundation expressed its willingness to collaborate with IICA in areas of common interest.
The Berghof Foundation is a non-governmental and non-profit organization that supports initiatives to prevent political and social violence and achieve sustainable peace through conflict transformation. It was founded by Professor Dr. Georg Zundel in 1971, and is currently operated by members of the Zundel family, who serve as shareholders and trustees. The Foundation is based in Berlin, Germany, and has a branch office in Tübingen, Germany, as well as project offices in Africa, the Middle East & North Africa (MENA), Latin America, and the Caucasus.
