On October 4, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, welcomed a delegation from the prominent Korean firm SK Group, headed by its Chairman, Chey Tae-won, and President of the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The President of Uzbekistan expressed his satisfaction with the steady progress of the special strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Korea, particularly in the fields of trade and economics.
At the gathering, the participants discussed ways to increase practical collaboration with SK Group on the implementation of high-tech projects, specifically the establishment of copper foil production in the Tashkent region.
The primary focus was on potential projects for the deep processing of raw materials and production of high-value finished products. Plans to train technicians and carry out scientific research in the semiconductor industry were also supported.
The importance of the active participation of the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry in drawing in direct investment from leading Korean companies to execute cooperation projects in key sectors was highlighted.
