The inaugural Shanghai Cooperation Organization Transport Forum has commenced at Uzexpocentre, with ministers and deputy ministers of transport, heads of various companies in the sector, and representatives of enterprises in the transport and logistics sector of the SCO member states present.
Transport Minister Ilkhom Mahkamov remarked that the forum in Tashkent is a significant event for industry representatives. It is another chance to address the major issues and objectives in the transport sector, as well as promising projects, including the formation of effective international transport routes and the establishment of strategies and mechanisms for further developing transport and communication ties of the SCO countries.
The President of Uzbekistan proposed the initiative to host the First SCO International Transport Forum at the SCO Samarkand Summit in September 2022. The forum will continue until November 3.
