The Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Tanzila Narbayeva, is currently paying an official visit to the Republic of Belarus. During her stay, she met with the President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko.
Uzbekistan and Belarus have a friendly and cooperative relationship, which was highlighted during the conversation. The parties discussed the prospects of strengthening political, trade, economic, scientific, technical, cultural, and humanitarian ties between the two countries.
The effectiveness of developing the inter-parliamentary dialogue, the regularity of partner meetings and events, and active interaction within the framework of the CIS Inter-Parliamentary Assembly and the Inter-Parliamentary Union were also discussed. Moreover, the two countries carry out constructive cooperation within the framework of international and regional organizations such as the UN, CIS, and SCO.
The focus of the dialogue was the upcoming business forum of business circles and women entrepreneurs of Uzbekistan and Belarus. It was noted that this event would significantly contribute to the development of women’s entrepreneurship and would become an effective platform for discussing and developing new proposals and initiatives to strengthen trade and economic ties.
The establishment of effective parliamentary control over the implementation of the agreements reached, the need to achieve gender equality through joint activities, and strengthening cooperation with the Belarusian Women’s Union were also noted.
