According to a press conference held by the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, Tajikistan’s foreign trade turnover reached a record high of over $8.3 billion in 2023, surpassing the previous year by 13.9% or $1 billion. This increase was driven by a 14.3% rise in exports, which amounted to more than $2.4 billion.
The implementation of tax and customs incentives, the establishment of modern production facilities, and an increase in consumer goods production helped meet domestic market demands and expand the export structure. In particular, the export of new goods such as copper, antimony, clothing, socks, alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, construction paints, packaging bags, and paper and cardboard products increased by $80 million, reaching a total of $350 million in 2023.
