Sughd Region Manufactures Industrial Goods Worth Over 12.1 Billion Somoni

DUSHANBE, 19.07.2023 (NIAT Khovar) – During the first half of 2023, industrial products worth more than 12.1 billion somoni were produced in the Sughd region, representing a 111.1% growth over the same period in the previous year, taking into account the price index.

The production of the main types of products increased, with 150.4 thousand tons of flour, 2395.8 tons of vegetable oil, 16382.8 tons of bread and bakery products, 6720.0 thousand conventional cans of various canned goods, and 6454.3 thousand decaliters of soft drinks being produced.

To mark the 35th anniversary of the State Independence, 150 new industrial enterprises and workshops are planned to be opened in 2023, and as a result of the measures taken, 162 new enterprises and workshops with 1,146 new jobs have been launched in the region in the first six months of the year.

In partnership with relevant bodies, entrepreneurs, and labor communities, 3 new sewing workshops with 16 new jobs were established in the first half of the year. During this period, the sewing enterprises of the region produced products worth 155.4 million somoni, an increase of 2.0 million somoni compared to the same period last year. Additionally, 392,582 units of school uniforms were manufactured.

11 shoe enterprises and workshops have been set up in the region, and from January to June of this year, shoe production rose to 311.6 thousand pairs, a 22.4% increase compared to the same period in the previous year.
