South Korea’s Investments in Uzbekistan Reach $7 Billion

The Republic of Uzbekistan and South Korea are working together on a number of projects in fields such as green energy, digital technologies, mechanical engineering, chemical, electrical, and textile industries, infrastructure development, and more. With almost a thousand joint ventures, the total amount of investments from South Korea has surpassed $7 billion, with the Korea Agency for International Cooperation, Eximbank of Korea, having invested more than $3 billion in various projects.

At a meeting between the Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbayeva and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Korea Han Duck-soo, the two parties discussed the current state and prospects of cooperation between Uzbekistan and Korea, including trade-economic, investment, and social relations. It was noted that the two countries should work to accelerate the implementation of projects to create a medical and pharmaceutical cluster, Uzbekistan-Korean cluster for producing electronic products and semiconductors together with the Fund for Economic Development and Cooperation.

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Korea expressed his support in developing new constructive proposals to deepen bilateral cooperation in all relevant areas.
