The South Korean government, Naver Corporation, and Samsung Electronics Company have been invited to the Artificial Intelligence Safety Summit taking place in Britain next month, according to Naver. Science and ICT Minister Lee Jong-ho, Cheun Kyung-whoon, president of Samsung Research and chief technology officer of Samsung Electronics Device eXperience Division, and Ha Jung-woo, head of the Naver Cloud Innovation Center, have all received an invitation from the British government, as reported by Ha on his Facebook page.
The summit, which will be the first of its kind on a global scale, will bring together representatives from the G7, executives from AI companies, and AI experts to discuss the potential risks of AI and determine effective countermeasures. The G7 includes the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, and the European Union.
Notable attendees will include U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, and DeepMind CEO Demis Hassabis, among others. The summit will be held at Bletchley Park, Buckinghamshire, on Wednesday and Thursday.
