Strengthening Ties between Uzbekistan and Belarus with Cooperation Agreements

Tanzila Narbayeva, Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, visited Natalya Kochanova, Chairperson of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, in Minsk. During their meeting, they discussed potential ways to improve their relations in the areas of legislation, gender and youth policy, digital development, and more. It was decided that a Memorandum of Cooperation between the Senate of the Oliy Majlis and the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly would strengthen their bond.

The two leaders also looked forward to a forthcoming forum, which is expected to provide a platform for discussing and initiating new projects for female entrepreneurship and increasing trade and economic connections between the two countries. It was noted that the forum’s concluding document (declaration) would help in the development of new joint business ventures with the participation of women entrepreneurs from both countries.

The Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Tanzila Narbayeva left an entry in the Book of Honored Guests of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus. The parties also signed a Memorandum of Cooperation between the Youth Council (Parliament) under the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus and the Youth Parliament under the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as between the Republican Public Association “Belarusian Women’s Union” and the Family and Women’s Committee.
