Shavkat Mirziyoyev, President of Uzbekistan, Participates in Economic Forum in Berlin

On September 29, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev attended the Economic Forum held in the German capital of Berlin under the auspices of the Eastern Committee of the German Economy. Joining him were the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov, the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, and the National Leader of Turkmenistan, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

Representing the German side were the Head of the Federal Chancellery and Federal Minister for Special Tasks Wolfgang Schmidt, the State Secretary at the Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Action Udo Philipp, and the Chairman of the Eastern Committee of the German Economy Cathrina Claas-Muehlhaeuser. The forum was also attended by heads of leading German companies and banks.

The President of Uzbekistan expressed his satisfaction with the growing interest of German businesses in Central Asian markets. He discussed the prospects for investment, innovation, and technological cooperation, the implementation of projects in high-tech industries, as well as in green energy, deep processing of raw materials, logistics and transport, and personnel training.

The President noted the development of trade, economic, and investment relations between Uzbekistan and Germany in recent years. He proposed several promising areas for further collaboration, such as the creation of effective value chains, the emergence of new platforms and permanent platforms for open dialogue, the production of in-demand industrial products, the organization of a Central Asian exhibition of high industrial technologies from leading German manufacturers, the development of green energy, the introduction of advanced technological solutions in the processing of critical raw materials, and the organization of exports of industrial products.

The President also touched upon food security, transport and logistics, and training qualified specialists. He expressed his readiness to continue supporting business initiatives and joint investment projects in Uzbekistan, noting that Central Asia is a region of great opportunities for German business representatives.
