Shavkat Mirziyoyev, President of Uzbekistan, Commits to Strengthening Ties with ACWA Power

On August 30, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, received the Chairman of the Board of Directors of ACWA Power, Mohammad Abunayyan. During the meeting, the two discussed ways to further strengthen and speed up the practical cooperation between Uzbekistan and ACWA Power.

The President expressed satisfaction with the current level of partnership between the two countries, with ACWA Power being the largest investor in the energy industry of Uzbekistan. The conversation focused on the construction of modern thermal power plants, wind and solar generation facilities, energy infrastructure, and the production of green hydrogen, as well as the localisation of equipment and components based on advanced technological solutions.

The Head of State also highlighted the importance of continuing to attract leading companies and banking institutions from Saudi Arabia to Uzbekistan, as part of the work of the joint Business Council, chaired by Mr. Mohammad Abunayyan.

At the end of the meeting, the Chairman of ACWA Power expressed his gratitude to the Leader of Uzbekistan for the recognition of his efforts and the awarding of the state “Dustlik” (Friendship) Order.
