Shavkat Mirziyoyev Hosts Delegation from Pakistan

On September 5, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, welcomed a delegation from the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, headed by the Chief of the Army Staff, General Asim Munir.

The two sides discussed ways to further develop the multifaceted cooperation and bolster the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Pakistan.

The esteemed guest conveyed the heartfelt greetings and best wishes of the President of Pakistan, Arif Alvi, and the Caretaker Prime Minister, Anwaar Kakar, to the President of Uzbekistan.

During the conversation, special attention was paid to keeping the mutual trade at a high level, speeding up the implementation of infrastructure projects, and deepening the cooperation between the leading companies of the two countries in line with the adopted action plan.

The parties discussed the issue of ensuring regional security, including in regard to the development of the situation in Afghanistan.

They also highlighted the importance of coordinating efforts to promote the Termez – Mazar-i-Sharif – Peshawar railway construction project.
