Serdar Berdimuhamedov, President of Turkmenistan, Travels to the US for a Working Visit

Serdar Berdimuhamedov, the President of Turkmenistan, is off to New York City in order to take part in the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly. This business trip will last until the 20th of September. During his stay, the head of state will attend the 78th session of the UN General Assembly, as well as the inaugural meeting of Central Asian countries and the United States of America, which is called “C5+1”. Furthermore, the President of Turkmenistan will have several bilateral meetings, including with the UN Secretary-General.

Turkmenistan’s foreign policy is based on the principles of positive neutrality, peacefulness, and constructive international cooperation. One of the main focuses of this policy is multi-vector cooperation with the United Nations.

The 78th session of the UN General Assembly opened on 5th of September in New York. From 19th to 26th of September, high-level events will take place.
