In January-September 2023, China was the top foreign investor and lender in Uzbekistan, with 24.5 percent of the total, followed by Russia with 15.9 percent, and Saudi Arabia in third place with 7 percent. According to the Statistics Agency, investments and loans allocated to fixed assets increased by 20.1 percent compared to the same period in 2022 and amounted to 104.4 trillion UZS.
Russia has put forth the most money in Uzbekistan, having furnished more than $11 billion to the nation’s economy.
