Prize-Giving Ceremony Held for Short Film Script Competition Winners

Awards were presented to the victors of the short film script competition, which is being jointly produced by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation and the VGIK branch named after S.A. Gerasimov in Tashkent.

The event was attended by advisors to the Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation Isajon Sultanov and Nazokat Abdukunduzova, Director of the Russian State University of Cinematography named after S.A.Gerasimov in Tashkent Eldar Yuldashev and university students.

The works of young filmmakers of Uzbekistan are actively encouraged and supported by the government and various ministries and agencies.

Fifteen scripts were submitted to the competition, with fourteen accepted for participation. The jury chose five short film scripts as the winners, which are “Conductor” by Umid Roziboyev, “Betrayal” by Bakhtiyor Fattakhov, “VGIK Temple” by Bakhrom Musurmanov, “Bandit” by Mumin Tursunov, and “Kimono” by Sanjar Murodshaikhov.

The Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation allocated 750 million UZS to fund the production of the five short films. Each winner was presented with a certificate of 150 million UZS in value.
