At a fourth meeting of the Joint Commission of Uzbekistan and Russia held in Moscow on September 18, Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin of the Russian Federation discussed cultural and humanitarian cooperation between the two countries. They both positively noted the work of the branch of the Russian State University of Cinematography named after S.A.Gerasimov located in Tashkent. Mr. Aripov, speaking of the international cultural project “Russian Seasons”, highlighted the successful VGIK master classes that took place in Uzbekistan.

It is worth mentioning that the Tashkent International Film Festival “Pearl of the Silk Road” will also feature the traditional VGIK master classes at the branch in Tashkent from September 29 to October 2. This practice of VGIK in Uzbekistan will be beneficial in training professional personnel for national cinematography.
