In 2018-2022, projects worth $110 million were implemented at this large plant with Chinese partners, including the attraction of $33 million of foreign direct investment. As a result, galvanized and polymerized metal sheets, metal pipes and profiles, hot-rolled metal sheets and construction profiles, and fittings with a capacity of 390 thousand tons of rebar per year were produced. These products can not only replace imports, but also be in demand on the foreign market, with exports worth $63 million last year. This figure is expected to be even higher this year, with 520 people currently employed.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the construction site of the fourth stage of the project, and it is planned to implement five more projects in 2023-2025, with a total of $621 million invested in them. This will result in the production of 1.7 million tons of metal products and 10 million square meters of glass, creating 930 new jobs. The President stressed the need to increase export competitiveness through localization and cost reduction.
